Author Mary Alice Monroe Returns to Amelia Island

The Amelia Island Book Festival announces that in partnership with The Book Loft and Art on Centre Gallery, a conversation, special reception, and book signing is being held with New York Times Bestselling Author, Mary Alice Monroe in celebration of the author’s newest book, Beach House Reunion on May 23, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Monroe is the bestselling author of more than a dozen novels, including The Summer Girls, The Summer Wind, The Summer’s End, Last Light Over Carolina, Time Is a River, Sweet grass, Skyward, The Beach House, Beach House Memories, Swimming Lessons, The Four Seasons, The Book Club, and others. She has received numerous awards and is the recipient of RT Lifetime Achievement Award, and the International Book Award for Green Fiction. “We are thrilled to have Mary Alice return to Amelia Island,” says John Ruis, AIBF president. “Her books are special to Amelia islanders as they often deal with the healing powers of nature.”

The event, which benefits the AIBF’S Authors in Schools Literacy Program will be held at Art on Centre Gallery, 503 Centre St., Fernandina Beach. Tickets are $50 and include hors d’oeuvres, wine, and a copy of the book. For more information visit www.ameliaislandbookfestival.org.
