Regan Westra grew up loving the coastal, Low Country life. Growing up fishing, shrimping, and crabbing in the creeks of South Carolina, she has an appreciation for an easy-going way of living. When she and her husband, Dan, visited Fernandina Beach, they discovered a similar lifestyle and moved to Amelia Island permanently in 2014.
Regan developed an eclectic, efficient, comfortable style that reflects the beauty and serenity of nature in the southern coastal areas. With the encouragement of friends, she took a leap of faith and opened her own store, Coastal Cottage, to share her vision and flair for creating warm, inviting environments. “Coastal Cottage brings together the types of furniture, bedding and table linens, lighting, throws, pillows, and other accents that we would choose for our own homes,” says Regan. “Quality, durable wood and upholstered furniture is the foundation of our collection, just as it is the foundation of a room. We will assist you in selecting a style of furniture, and then help you find draperies, throws, and pillows to add a burst of color and introduce interesting texture.”
Regan and Dan give back to the community by hosting monthly contests and promotions that benefit local charities like the Council on Aging, the Katie Caples Foundation, and many more. They are also proud to have been chosen for this year’s Holiday Home Tour in December. Coastal Cottage is located at 1439 Sadler Road, next to Staples.
