The Amelia Island Museum of History presents 3rd Friday on 3rd Street, Friday, July 21 at 6 p.m.featuring JAZZ THE AMERICAN ART FORM – a unique Jazz Talk and Concert with Les DeMerle, Jazz Drummer and Amelia Island Jazz Festival Founder and Artistic Director, formerly with Harry James, Frank Sinatra and the Manhattan Transfer.

Celebrated Jazz and Big Band drummer Les DeMerle will cover the history and future of Jazz from Louis Armstrong to Wynton Marsalis. The program will feature special Jazz Festival video highlights of 2016 and 2017 headliners, plus a special guest performance by 2017 Amelia Island Jazz Festival Scholarship Winner – 18 year old saxophonist Skyler Nolan and the Next Generation Jazz Band. Don’t miss a beat: join Les as he shares his history and passion for Jazz music, and support the 14th annual Amelia Island Jazz Festival.
