hen Cindy Jackson left her busy life in the Baltimore/Washington area six years ago, she discovered Amelia Island and its charming Historic District, where she decided to open her new business. Cindy purchased a pre-existing fashion store, and then made it her own—Bijoux Amelia. “At Bijoux Amelia, we’re all about fun, funky, and affordable fashions,” says Cindy. “I love the vibe here in Fernandina Beach, and I want our customers to feel it, too.”
With the help of Carol and Dr. Ken Copithorne, Bijoux Amelia has evolved in its own way. “We’re always on the lookout for new items and constantly expanding our offerings,” says Cindy. “Our merchandise provides a compliment to more expensive fashions, and they are all of the highest quality!” Bijoux Amelia carries hats, scarves, pashminas, tote bags, vegan leather purses, jewelry, beach towels, and some home accessories.
Cindy appreciates Amelia Island’s local artists and regularly hosts “meet and greet” events featuring artists and their work. Bijoux also participates in the Second Saturday Artrageous Artwalk, offering wine, cheese, and conversation to artists and art-lovers alike. In the short time she’s lived in Fernandina Beach, Cindy has developed close friendships with customers, whom she considers part of her family. She is a member of Rotary and volunteers with other charitable organizations. “I’ve made so many great connections here. Amelia Island is a wonderful place to call home!” Bijoux Amelia is located at 317 Centre Street. For more information, call (904) 310-6086.
